Water Well Inspection: What is it?

A well inspection is a thorough evaluation of your entire well and system. We will look at the pump and how it’s operating, the pressure tank, and all the little parts that go with the well.

You need to have a water well inspection so you can know that you are getting the best water possible at the best efficiency possible.

Before the inspection, you should locate your well’s log or record. This contains information about your well and it’s history. This helps make the inspection go smoother.

During a water well inspection we will look at several different things:

ARE YOU HAVING ANY WELL PROBLEMS?

We will ask if you are noticing any problems with your well. This may include spitting from the faucet, high electric bills, any odors or any strange sounds. This will help us to know if there is anything specific we need to take a look at.

If there are any other concerns you may have about your well we will be glad to take a look at that. We want you to know that your water well is working at it’s best.

IS THE WELL PUMP WORKING CORRECTLY?

Our technicians will check how your pumps motor is performing. You want your pump to be working correctly so that it will last as long as possible and so that you aren’t running into any problems later on.

If your pump isn’t working correctly it could also cause you to have higher than normal electric bills.

ARE THE OTHER COMPONENTS OF THE WELL WORKING?

We will perform a test that checks the pressure tank and the pressure switch. We will also test and make sure that the water level is where it needs to be before and during pumping.

We will also take a look at the well itself and make sure that the digging was done correctly and that there are no signs of damage to the water well.

IS THE WATER QUALITY GOOD?

We will look at your water and make sure there are no obvious signs of issues with your water. Some of these signs would be: cloudy water, odor, taste, etc. We will then test your water for things that can’t be seen such as: nitrates, iron, sulfides, and water hardness.

We will provide you with a clear report of our findings and give you any recommendations that we think would be helpful for your water well system.
