With such a technical piece of equipment, it can be hard to know what features to look for, and what a fair price is for each style of pump. There are two types of residential sump pumps – the pedestal and the submersible style pump. Submersible pumps are a little more common, and in these style pumps, the motor is located inside the unit. This configuration protects it against electrical issues, but can make repairs a little trickier.
